Osteopathy & Pregnancy
Osteopathic treatment through pregnancy is a gentle way of helping the body adapt to the changes pregnancy places on the body.
Osteopathic treatment can ease symptoms such as low back, buttock, groin and leg pain, neck and shoulder pain, discomfort around the thorax and indigestion, and post natal problems of the pelvis.
Advice from your osteopath can help you change your posture and learn to use your body correctly through pregnancy.
Useful tips during pregnancy:
Take care when lifting and carrying especially lifting and carrying small children. Do not carry a child on one hip for any length of time
Lying on your side in bed, place a pillow under 'your bump' to provide support and a pillow between your legs to take any strain off your back
If you prefer lying on your back, place a pillow under your knees instead
